Job Description

Cain & Company’s Project Coordinator keeps our client work running smoothly from kickoff to final delivery. This role manages the day-to-day flow of marketing projects – planning, organizing, and keeping everything on track to ensure deadlines, budgets, and client expectations are met. From scheduling with the art department to maintaining timelines and tracking deliverables, the Project Coordinator brings clarity to the chaos and keeps the team moving forward.

They’re also responsible for improving how work moves through the agency. With experience using a project management system (like Workamajig, Asana, or Trello), this role helps define smarter processes, support cross-team collaboration, and drive better project outcomes.

Core Responsibilities

  • Keep projects on track from start to finish so nothing slips or stalls.
  • Own the flow of work – help manage and improve project processes in Workamajig (our project management system) to keep everything running like clockwork.
  • Work directly with clients to keep projects on track from start to finish, making sure nothing slips through the cracks.
  • Coordinate tasks with the creative team to keep projects moving forward.
  • Maintain status reports and make sure everyone knows what’s due, when it’s due, what’s done, and what’s next.
  • Track client preferences, brand requirements, and processes so the team always has what they need.
  • Log daily time entries to support accurate project tracking and billing.

Skills/Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a similar role (bonus points if you’ve worked at an agency or with marketing content).
  • Hands-on experience managing marketing projects from start to finish.
  • Comfortable working with project workflow tools like Workamajig, Asana, Trello, or similar, and excited to take the lead on learning, shaping, and owning the way work moves through our team.
  • Familiar with modern marketing tactics: social media, email, SEO, digital ads, content marketing, automation…the usual suspects.
  • Incremental travel is expected for trainings, conferences, and client meetings.

You would be successful in this role if…

  • You learn quickly and aren’t afraid of new tools, tech, or processes.
  • You’re a clear communicator who knows how to collaborate with a diverse team.
  • You know how to manage your time and keep projects on track without constant oversight.
  • You’re great at translating complexity into something easy to understand for clients and coworkers alike.
  • You’re a natural problem solver who can fix bottlenecks and keep things moving.
  • You work well under pressure and know how to keep clients feeling confident, even when things get hectic.
  • You’re super organized and know how to juggle multiple priorities without letting anything slip.
  • You’re genuinely curious about marketing and love staying current on trends.
  • You’re self-motivated but still a total team player.
  • You’re open to feedback and use it to improve your work.

Job Description

A Proofreader at Cain & Company isn’t just a grammar checker. They’re the last line of defense before content goes out the door, responsible for catching errors, sharpening clarity, and making sure every piece is grammatically sound, on-brand, and audience-ready. This includes reviewing content across formats: ads, emails, websites, brochures, video scripts, and social media.

Proofreaders work closely with our copywriters, account managers, and creative teams to refine marketing materials that support our clients’ goals and reflect their brand standards.

Core Responsibilities

  • Proofread and edit content to ensure it meets agency and client standards for grammar, clarity, accuracy, and consistency.
  • Catch tone and voice inconsistencies, and flag content that doesn’t match client brand guidelines or project goals.
  • Collaborate with copywriters, designers, and account managers to refine work before it goes to clients.
  • Maintain and apply client style guides, brand voice documents, and editorial standards.
  • Conduct quick background research on client industries when needed to verify terminology, product details, or industry-specific language.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, English, journalism, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in a proofreading, editing, or content review role. Agency or marketing setting strongly preferred.
  • Strong command of grammar, clarity, tone, and structure across various formats.
  • Working knowledge of general marketing principles, including SEO and digital content best practices.
  • Ability to review with performance, readability, and brand alignment in mind.

You would be successful in this role if…

  • You love proofreading and editing. It’s not just your hobby, it’s your thing.
  • You can spot when a complicated topic isn’t landing clearly and know how to flag it.
  • You strike a balance between polish and purpose, delivering content that feels professional and on-brand but still speaks to the people it’s meant for.
  • You’re confident working independently, but you love a good team brainstorm or collaboration.
  • You take constructive feedback and use it to improve your work.
  • You’re detail-obsessed. You catch the missing comma and the weird tone shift.
  • You like solving problems, not just pointing them out.
  • You can juggle multiple projects without losing track.
  • You stay organized, hit your deadlines, and communicate if something’s off track.
  • You understand how to handle confidential information professionally.
